Tinius Olsen is the leading specialist manufacturer and supplier of static tension and/or compression materials testing machines. Our machines are designed for use in Research and Quality Control to measure material’s strength and performance. Using Tinius Olsen equipment it is possible to perform such tests on raw materials such as metals, polymers, textiles, rubbers, adhesives, food as well finished components. A whole series of tests are available including tension, shear, compression, flex / bend, puncture / burst, tear, peel, melt flow, Charpy and Izod impact, friction, heat distortion temperature, Vicat penetration, and torsion.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Machine Assembler at Tinius Olsen located in Horsham, PA. The Machine Assembler will be responsible for assembling and testing machinery components, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and ensuring the proper functioning of machinery on a day-to-day basis.

Machine Assembler (Experienced 6-10 Years) Job Description

Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday

Responsibilities

• Complete assembly of intricate machines having a large number of parts
• May include sub-assembly bench work
• Erection of large and complicated units
• Considerable fitting, aligning, and adjusting to very close tolerances. Highly diversified.
• Layout work, drilling, tapping, and polishing as needed to complete final assembly of machines.
• Experience using micrometers, calipers and dial indicators
• Must be proficient using hand tools and power tools

Skills

• 6 - 10 years’ of mechanical experience
• Must have good attendance, attitude and performance
• Experience with working in the manufacturing field is preferred
• Mechanically inclined and capable of learning new tasks
• Ability to work from prints and to follow demonstrated directions
• Hydraulic experience a plus
• Adherence to all Company and OSHA safety rules
• High School Diploma / GED
