What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cake Decorator position at Tinton Falls Pastry Chef?
Pastry Chef is a family owned Italian bakery that has been servicing our regulars in Tinton Falls with our retail shop; as well as wedding venues, hotels, casinos, and other commercial accounts since 1996
We are seeking a talented Cake Decorator to join our team. The role will be in a high volume retail and commercial bakery creating pre-set store cakes, tiered wedding cakes, and custom to-order celebration cakes
Schedule: Tue-Sat 7am start
Duties
- Design and decorate cakes according to customer specifications and weekly commercial orders
- Collaborate with our cake decorating team to complete daily workload of cake. Summer seasonal volume is in the 100s weekly
- Ensure cakes are completed on time and meet quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements
- Experience in food preparation, production, and handling
- Working with multi-tiered and tall cakes. Cutting/filling and also slicing cakes are a must
- Knowledge of baking techniques and cake decoration
- Understanding of food safety practices in the culinary industry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Familiarity with various tools and knives for cake decoration
- Prior skill with fondant and molding chocolate is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
