Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Care Center Assistant Director to join our team. In this role, you will support the Center Director in overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children. You will play a crucial role in developing educational programs, managing staff, and fostering positive relationships with families. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childcare, particularly with infants and preschool-aged children, as well as experience in special education and behavior management.
Duties
- Assist the Center Director in managing daily operations of the childcare center.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Supervise and support staff in their caregiving roles, providing guidance on best practices.
- Foster a safe and welcoming environment for children, parents, and staff.
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and licensing requirements.
- Collaborate with families to address individual child needs and promote effective communication.
- Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, record keeping, and reporting.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities through tailored programs and interventions.
- Engage in behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions among children.
Qualifications
- Experience in childcare settings, particularly with infants and preschool-aged children.
- Knowledge of special education practices and experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
- Strong skills in behavior management and conflict resolution.
- Ability to educate staff on caregiving techniques that enhance child development.
- Previous experience as a nanny or caregiver is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff members.
