About the Role :
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic After School Supervisor to join our team at Tiny Tunes Daycare in Bronx, NY. As an After School Supervisor, you will play a key role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children after school hours.
25 to 30 hours weekly
Responsibilities :
Supervise and engage with children in indoor and outdoor activities
Assist with homework and provide educational support
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care
Communicate effectively with parents and staff
Implement and enforce daycare policies and procedures
Supervising Students- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during after-school hours. This involves monitoring their activities, behavior, and interactions with others.
Implementing Policies and Procedures- Enforce school or program policies and procedures to maintain a structured environment. This may include rules regarding behavior, attendance, and use of facilities.
Organizing Recreational Activities- Plan and coordinate recreational and social activities for students to participate in after school. These activities could include sports, arts and crafts, games, or clubs.
Managing Facilities- Ensure that the facility is clean, safe, and properly maintained. This may involve setting up rooms for activities, monitoring equipment usage, and reporting any maintenance issues.
Communicating with Parents and Staff- Maintain open communication with parents, teachers, and other staff members regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns that arise. This may include attending meetings or conferences as needed.
Handling Discipline Issues- Address disciplinary issues according to program policies. This could involve resolving conflicts between students, implementing consequences for rule violations, and communicating with parents about behavior problems.
Documenting Activities and Incidents- Keep records of daily activities, attendance, incidents, and any other relevant information. This documentation may be used for reporting purposes or to track student progress.
Supervising Staff- oversee other after-school staff members such as assistants or volunteers, delegating tasks and providing guidance as needed.
Attending Training and Meetings- Participate in training sessions, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices and procedures for working with students in an after-school setting.- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for school-aged children
Requirements :
Previous experience working with school- age children
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
CPR and First Aid certification (not required but a plus)
Positive and patient demeanor
Ability to pass a background check
Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a positive learning environment
A passion for working with young children and helping them reach their full potential
