Job Description SUMMARY:
Responsible for coordinating recruitment activities, training programs, leave management and benefits for all employees. Supervises HR teams and assists to ensure that HR functions are compliant with Company Policy and NYS Gaming Regulations, State and Federal Law.
Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring and guidance to Executive Team. Attract, retain, manage performance, and develop our most important asset - our Associates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Oversee the development and delivery of training programs and materials through collaboration and communication with management and department Managers and Directors.
- Manage classroom schedules; ensures facility setup, audiovisual setup, and participant notification.
- Ensure that all Supervisors/Managers are aware of training (how/when/where and overcommunicate to get to 100% compliance).
- Develop tools that are to be used for the efficient, effective and cost-effective way of training programs.
- Conducts customer service, TIPS, Safety, Responsible Gaming, Title 31 and all other training to the entire workforce when needed.
- Develop, review, update and conduct new hire orientation.
- Use metrics and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement programs accordingly.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to associates and leaders.
- Assist Management with training and coaching new hires to increase new hire retention.
- Develop, maintain and execute programs for retention of employees.
- Maintain and revise exit interviews when needed to increase retention. Generate reports based on exit interviews.
- Work with management to develop new hire and ongoing training. Coordinate training with all departments and assist where needed.
- Ensures that Management is provided with up-to-date knowledge of project-related updates, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure all Supervisors/Managers are trained and are knowledgeable in Supervisory Skills, to include: how to hire, issuing evaluations, using all of the HR tools necessary. Retrain when necessary. Review and recommend new tools when needed.
- Prepare training resources and maintain a library of training aids.
- Develop a means of measuring the effectiveness of training programs developed or administered through evaluation, testing, and assessment of program outcomes.
- Provide reports on training status, as required.
- Assist with compliance reporting.
- Assist Director with ensuring of compliance of all HR related mandates are adhered to and followed per NYS Regulations as well as State and Federal Laws.
- Assist as needed with conducting and documenting thorough investigations into Associate concerns, addressing escalated labor relations issues
- Develop Job Descriptions and update Jobs Compendium and Org Chart.
- Oversees Benefit Administration and Leave Management, to include processes to ensure policy and Laws are being followed
- Participate in program, client, and vendor meetings, calls and conferences.
- Serves as an expert for recruiting candidates. Uses traditional and non-traditional resources to identify and attract quality candidates such as career fairs, on-line job fairs, community network events, etc. Attend and organize job fairs on site and off site.
- Develops advertising programs (internal and external) and works with the Marketing Department in order to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
- Act as liaison with area employment agencies and advertising agencies, process and check advertising agency billings, liaison with temporary agencies, record status of authorized positions within the corporations, employment verifications, employee referral program.
- Assists HR Team with Recruitment and onboarding.
- Oversee job postings and ensure that they are accurate, up to date and relays the correct information (internally and externally on all job boards). Process, submit and reconcile any bill received for external postings and/or job fairs.
- Ensure that employee communication is accurate, on time, relays a positive message and is effective.
- Ensure that all duties within the HR office are attended to in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by executive management.
- All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Works with all members of the human resource departments to ensure that the highest level of guest service is delivered to all employees.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Hospitality is preferred. Minimum of two (2) years in Human Resources or related field required with a strong background in benefits and leave management required. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR certification is preferred.Minimum of one year supervisory experience is required. Prior experience working in an entertainment or guest service company is preferred. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess effective communication and organizational skills. Must be computer-literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Data bases and ADP). Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from Associates, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and large group situations. Must be able to Muli-task.
Must have analytical and research skills. Must have a sense of urgency and organizational skills.
