Tioga Medical Center Long Term Care is seeking LPN applicants with a passion for caring for residents and the community, who will provide exceptional patient care and are willing to work as a team with all staff.

Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time/PRN

Responsibilities:
Assess and provide effective and safe resident care to contribute to the resident's overall care plan. Prepares, administers and charts routine and emergency medication and treatment to contribute to the resident's overall care plan. Makes provisions for outside physician visits to ensure resident's physical needs are met. Completes clerical records and forms to ensure continuity and quality of resident care. Performs safety and infection control procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment for residents and staff. Follows OSHA bloodborne pathogens standards. Maintain adequate stock of supplies and equipment. Reports all accidents promptly, investigates causes of accidents, and takes necessary steps to correct unsafe conditions.

License and Certifications:
Active LPN license in good standing with the State of North Dakota.
Active BLS certification

Physical Requirements:
Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, pushing and puffing, fine hand coordination, standing for extended periods of time, ability to communicate with residents, personnel and consultants, ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures, ability to hear and respond to pages, ability to read and write in English. Must be able to lift 5-50 pounds.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This position requires a current LPN license in good standing with the State of North Dakota; requires the visual and auditory ability to assess resident conditions to administer effective care using standard nurse practices; must have the ability to verbally communicate and problem solve effectively with residents, staff, physicians, and families; must have ability to remain calm under stress; must have the manual dexterity to perform such functions as administering injections, inserting catheters, administering IV solutions according to the North Dakota Board of Nursing guidelines, pushing a medication cart, and performing CPR (which requires recertification every two years); must have the physical ability to respond in a quick manner and in accordance with established facility practice regarding unexpected resident safety needs; must have the ability to complete forms and records; and may be required to assist with lifting and transferring of residents; must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork; must have ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
