Tioga Medical Center is seeking a Surgical RN to join our team! Applicants must have excellent observation and assessment skills and the ability to educate patients and families. The opportunity to work full-time is possible with also working in the Hospital/ER or LTC!
Position Type: Part-time or PRN
Responsibilities:
Give patient care, patient teaching, and documentation of same according to policy and procedures of Tioga Medical Center. Must complete charting accurately and make appropriate reporting of errors. Make economical use of all equipment, supplies and time. Provide direct patient care. Assess patient and document on the intraoperative record form. Communicate with patients and families, team members and physicians. Attend O.R. staff meetings. Maintain the proper surgery dress code. Surgical RN mostly aides in pre-op and post-op recovery.

Experience:
Surgical experience preferred, but not required.
License and Certifications:
Active RN License in good standing with the State of North Dakota
Current BLS Certification
Current ACLS and PALS Certification, or must obtain certification within 6 months of hire
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This position requires a RN with a current license in good standing with the State of North Dakota; the knowledge, skills and abilities as required by TMC's RN job description; must be willing to comply with the goals and objectives set by the hospital; must demonstrate knowledge in proper use of equipment used in the O.R, assembly of equipment for use, maintaining equipment, trouble-shooting ability and cleaning and disposal of equipment; must be knowledgeable and aware of legal responsibilities and limits of practice; must function within the general policies of the hospital; must have the mental capability to keep informed of new methods and technology and follow OSHA guidelines; must have the visual, auditory and manual dexterity to function in the position of surgical scrub OR nurse or circulating OR nurse; must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork; must have ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public; travel may be required to attend work-related meetings and educational opportunities.
