Key responsibilities: (Including but not limited to)
- Maintain Food Product Safety.
- Properly hang birds on the line at 20 birds per minute.
- Harvest giblets, liver, rooster fries, hearts, and fat from giblet chiller and place into six head boxes or five pound bags.
- Ensure product temperature remains at 40 degrees or below.
- Shovel ice into front and back alter to maintain temperature of pre-chiller and Fill ice vats as needed
- Properly cut necks that must be bagged
- Pack six to twelve plant grade birds in a six or twelve head box
- Correctly weigh boxes
- Ice all products
- Complete all orders in a timely manner
- Check birds for feathers or bruises
- Watch for bones and other foreign material
- Pack enough wings to weigh 40 pounds
- Job may require performing other jobs or duties as needed
Physical requirements:
Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per day; free use of hands and free range of arm movement. Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40 lbs. Ability to safely walk to and in the plant; ability to properly wear personal protective equipment and/or sanitary equipment.
