Job Description:
The Journeyman Lineman is responsible for providing efficient and economical electrical service to Tipmont REMC members. The role involves instructing Apprentice Linemen, maintaining necessary skills and knowledge, and performing duties under the supervision of the Line Superintendent or Line Foreman.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations: Instruct Apprentice Linemen during various phases of their training, maintain necessary skills and knowledge, and perform duties under the supervision of the Line Superintendent or Line Foreman.
- Construction and Maintenance: Plan daily work activities, hold necessary knowledge to perform all phases of line work, and perform any duties involved in previous positions.
- Outages: Be on standby rotation list and go out with anyone in the Line Department as assigned by the Operations Manager or Operations Supervisor.
- Safety and Compliance: Provide thorough job-briefing tailgate conferences, work in compliance with established Rural Utilities Service (RUS) guidelines, and set an example of safe practices for others.
Requirements:
- Must be a certified journeyman Lineman, ability to use or learn to use a personal computer for various applications, including Word, Excel and database programs, and ability to perform all types of work without supervision.
- Must have a valid driver's license and valid Class A CDL, ability to read, write and speak the English language above the level of the average adult, and ability to listen carefully to members and coworkers.
