Instructional Designer on site position Sierra Vista AZ

Tipping Point Solutions, LLC is seeking an Instructional Designer for a local position supporting the US Army Center of Excellence (USAICoE) at on site (2520 Healy Ave. Fort Huachuca, AZ) Fort Huachuca, Arizona. The Instructional Designer will provide direct management oversight on the Education, Doctrine, and Instruction for Intelligence Efforts (EDIF-IE) contract and the task orders (TOs) associated with the Directorate of Training and Doctrine (DOT-D) Requiring Activities (RA). This is a Civilian position and does not require current / previous military experience or enlistment.

This is an on-site position where the ID will create engaging and effective customized learning products, using sound Instructional Design principles and adult learning methodologies. These products include learning objective documents, assessment strategies, and lesson design documents in support of resident training, remote / virtual learning environments, and blended learning. Reviews approved methods of instructions for best fit with learning objectives, time available, and instructor-to-student ratios. Maintains currency on changes in educational research and emerging evidence-based trends in education, relevant to education and training conducted by the Intelligence Center of Excellence. Ensures document logic, accuracy, appropriate tone for audience and language consistency. Creates detailed content outlines and learning scenarios / vignettes. Designs effective learning activities that accomplish learning objectives. Coordinates with project managers and subject matter experts to ensure that final products achieve the intended learning and training objectives. Designs formative and summative assessment strategies

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Develop Lesson Plans that include writing terminal and enabling learning objectives in collaboration with SMEs.
  • Ensure the instructional integrity and educational effectiveness of all training materials produced and consultations provided.
  • Employ adult learning principles and learner-centric strategies in lesson designs.
  • Design performance-based, measurable assessment items which align to the learning objectives and critical tasks.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and other team members in all phases of the ADDIE process.
  • Adhere to accepted templates, formatting guidelines, style guides, and International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction (IBSTPI) Instructional Designer Competencies.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance Specialists in the review and editing of all deliverables.
  • Compile materials for and implement Just-in-Time Training (JITT) events for SMEs and course personnel.
  • If assigned an Interactive Multi-media Instruction project, apply proven eLearning engagement and motivation strategies, to include (but not limited to) : case studies, simulations, practical exercises, and scenario-based knowledge checks, as applicable.
  • Communicate effectively within the framework of an Army training culture.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required and as assigned by supervisor.

Desired Experience :

  • Firm understanding of the ADDIE system of design and evaluation.
  • Prior experience as a curriculum designer / developer.
  • Prior experience as an educator and / or military instructor.
  • Experience in a Government contracting environment is a plus
  • A minimum of two years of cumulative instructional design experience, which includes experience in 3 of the following 5 areas : Applying learning theory, learning models, and emerging learning theory research to the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of face-to-face (classroom delivered) training and education
  • Developing advanced distributive learning products, such as distance learning and interactive multimedia
  • Analyzing, designing, leading or participating in the development and implementation of online courses, web-based training, and instructor-led training curricula using cutting-edge and creative design, and course delivery
  • Conducting analyses to determine where technology could be used to improve training and
  • Job Requirements :

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Eligible for government security clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • This is an on-site position and will require working at Fort Huachuca, 2520 Healy Ave. Fort Huachuca, AZ
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in education or as an educator in a certified teaching discipline / instruction. Experience preference towards addressing the educational needs of adults for resident learning. Designing learning programs, activities, and curriculum that use a mixture of learning modalities to enhance adult learning.
  • Experience must include participating in the development of resident learning programs and curriculums.
  • Education must include at least 12 semester credits focused on educational research, learning theory, education technology, instructional design or other related education themed courses. Courses focusing on the administration or fiscal requirements of education related organizations do not count towards the credit requirement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic and flexible environment where priorities and deadlines may change.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with outstanding customer service skills.
  • Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within changing priorities.
  • Attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interface with Senior-level personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
