Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality mental health care to patients, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric conditions. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
- Provide psychotherapy and medication management as necessary.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as eClinicalWorks for documentation and patient management.
- Participate in clinical supervision and mentoring of nursing staff as needed.
- Engage in community outreach programs to support individuals with mental health challenges, including those working with people with disabilities.
- Maintain knowledge of current best practices in psychiatric care, including techniques such as specimen collection processing and neonatal ventilator management when applicable.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably within a Psychiatric inpatient/outpatient facility or similar environment.
- Proficiency in handling medical equipment related to psychiatric care, including the ability to ventilate patients when necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in mental health care practices.
