We have an excellent opportunity for a Civil/Structural Engineer in our Corporate Engineering department- Structural Engineering Division to provide structural engineering technical support to the Titan facilities in the Mid Atlantic.
In this role, you will play a key role in providing structural engineering related services to the Operation team and the Project Management team. You will work in close communication with Operation to provide insight into structural matters related to the everyday operation and assist in planning for short-term and long-term structural repairs. You will be helping Operation identify the major structural maintenance projects and then provide insight, hire and manage external consultants, develop options and priority lists, present to stakeholders, and collaborate with the facility maintenance team to develop a map for addressing the matters. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization's success by maintaining the existing infrastructure, and we are looking for a candidate who is ready to take on this challenge.
Job Description:
- Work with operation to provide insight on urgent, short-term and long-term structural engineering matters related to the infrastructures
- Provide action plans for addressing the structural matters and provide technical support to the maintenance team
- Assist the maintenance team in improving the structural inspection plan
- Educate the internal inspectors on structural inspection of the facility
- Lead the digitalization efforts related to the structural inspection
- Oversee the work of the external structural consultants
- Ensure all relevant activities comply with regulations, industry standards, and organizational guidelines.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with the stakeholders, provide regular updates on status of tasks and projects and address any concerns.
- Perform regular visits to the site as needed.
Qualifications:
- B.S degree in Civil Engineering and an advanced degree in Structural Engineering
- 3 to 5 years of experience working in a consulting firm as a design engineer (Prior experience in construction is a plus)
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Interested in working in the office and out in the field
- Ability to work closely with Operation, understand the priorities of Operation and develop options that ensure safe operation by minimizing impact on operation and cost.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies to ensure compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and clear updates on structural matters,
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges in a fast-paced construction and operation environment.
- Attention to detail with analytical and judgment capabilities to anticipate issues and provide solutions.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a team environment
- Positive attitude to achieve goals and deliver results.
Up to 30% of travel will be needed for this position.
