Overview
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Engineer Intern to join our team in Troutville, VA. The successful candidate will work closely with our engineering team to assist with various technical projects and daily operations. Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, analysis, and optimization of engineering systems related to heavy industry operations.
- Support the engineering team in preparing technical reports, documentation, and presentations.
- Conduct research and analysis to help identify potential improvements in processes and equipment.
- Provide assistance in troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues on-site.
- Help with data collection, analysis, and interpretation related to ongoing projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met within scope and timeline.
- Participate in site visits to understand the application of engineering concepts in real-world operations.
- Support the development of engineering drawings, schematics, and models using CAD software.
- Assist with quality control and safety audits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the engineering department.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Strong academic performance and a genuine interest in heavy industry and engineering applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute.
- Experience or coursework in heavy machinery, manufacturing processes, or industrial automation.
