Overview: Titan Brands is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be able to work independently with little supervision. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of accounting duties, including account reconciliations, month-end journal entries, inventory, merchant accounts, and other general accounting tasks. The candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and possess a positive attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex financial and accounting analysis completely and accurately
- Collaborate with other departments on strategic projects and process improvements. Involvement will require problem solving, communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
- Lead efforts related to system changes and/or implementations impacting area of responsibility
- Ensure processing efficiencies, utilizing innovative technical and processing solutions
- Develop and assist in automating accounting processes, analysis techniques, and reporting functionality
- Work independently with other departments to research, analyze, and resolve irregularities and discrepancies
- Maintain complete and accurate task lists and status of open items
- Participate in the financial review process and other presentations with senior management, offering interpretation beyond the data
- Prepare inventory entries and ensure accurate counts by the warehouses
- Prepare analysis for budgeting and forecasting
- Research, process, and resolve refund-related tasks including customer requests, sales orders, invoices, and large merchant accounts
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Record and manage prepaids
- Responsible for chargebacks and claims
- Pay monthly and yearly taxes and assist with the fillings
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations and variance analysis monthly
- Process and post journal entries
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles
- Research and resolve discrepancies and complect technical accounting issues as necessary
- Identify and communicate issues and be proactive in determining impact and proposed resolution
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead the development of range of solutions
- Prepare related quarterly and year end reporting
- Support efforts related to system changes and/or implementations
- Maintain complete and accurate tasks lists and status of open items
- Consistently meet deadlines
- Prepare complex analysis for external accountants
- Communicate known issues to manager timely
- Maintain and develop relationships with other departments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required
- CPA strongly preferred
- 5 years’ experience in accounting
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Advanced Excel skills and proficient with accounting ERP software (NetSuite preferred)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
