The primary responsibility of the full-time Human Resource Assistant/Payroll is to help with the recruitment and retention of associates at the company. In addition, this individual is responsible for helping to administer and uphold company policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook and enroll benefits and compensation as employees become eligible.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer company policies as detailed by company handbook ensuring consistency.
- Assist in the hiring process including job posting on really and other sites, reviewing resumes, and selecting candidates for interviews.
- Perform background checks, verify employee files including I-9 verification.
- Enroll eligible associates in benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, etc. This includes assistance with enrollments, changes, and payroll deductions.
- Onboarding associates
- Maintain confidential employee files.
- Administer all corporate, local, state, and federal personnel forms including new hire paperwork, terminations, workers compensation, unemployment claims etc.
- Process payroll for certain entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Experience and Requirements:
- Human Resources Functions: 1-2 years. (Preferred)
- Payroll and benefit administration: 1-2 years (Preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills are desired.
- ADP Workforce Now/Paychex experience a plus.
- Computer skills, ability to create documents and reports.
