Senior Database Administrator Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of database migration projects to cloud platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, BigQuery, and others.
- Assess current database infrastructure and identify opportunities for optimization and migration to cloud-based solutions.
- Design and implement cloud-based database solutions that meet the agency's performance, scalability, and security requirements.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to ensure optimal performance in the cloud environment.
- Implement robust security measures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in cloud-based database environments.
- Develop and maintain data backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data in cloud databases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure successful integration of cloud databases.
- Provide training and guidance to team members.
Senior Database Administrator Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Database Administrator or similar role.
- Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL.
- Experience with Google BigQuery and cloud-based database solutions.
- Strong knowledge of database design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Experience with database security best practices.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery and high availability solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
