Position Overview :
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a PRN basis. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to assist in delivering quality patient care and rehabilitative services. This position is perfect for those looking for flexible work hours while making a meaningful impact on patients' lives.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist Occupational Therapists in the execution of individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
Provide therapeutic interventions to enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of patients.
Conduct assessments and document patient progress, ensuring compliance with facility policies and healthcare regulations.
Educate patients and their families about therapeutic techniques and at-home exercises to promote recovery.
Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients, ensuring all equipment and materials are used properly.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, physical therapy, and healthcare providers, to optimize patient care and outcomes.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with trends in occupational therapy practice.
Adhere to ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality in all interactions.
Qualifications :
Current certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Louisiana.
Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients of diverse backgrounds.
Ability to perform physical demands of the job, including lifting, pushing, and assisting patients with mobility.
CPR / BLS required.
