Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance and repair operations of our 174-bed hospital. The Maintenance Supervisor manages a team responsible for ensuring the hospital’s facilities, equipment, and grounds are well-maintained and compliant with safety and regulatory standards. This individual will coordinate preventative maintenance programs, emergency repairs, and new installations while prioritizing patient and staff safety.
Essential Functions
-Supervises maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, providing training, and evaluating performance to ensure efficient hospital operations.
-Oversees the repair and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations. (HHS, NFPA, Joint Commission,etc)
-Implements and monitors preventative maintenance schedules for hospital equipment, building systems, and infrastructure to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
-Ensures the team is prepared to handle emergency repairs and system breakdowns quickly, minimizing disruption to hospital operations.
-Coordinates external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, renovations, or installations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
-Manages procurement of parts, tools, and materials necessary for maintenance tasks. Maintains accurate records of inventory and equipment.
-Works closely with other departments to assess maintenance needs and support hospital goals.
-Troubleshoots issues quickly and implements cost-effective solutions
-Communicates collaboratively with maintenance team, hospital staff and leadership.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
-Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience
-Five years of experience in maintenance operations with two years in a supervisory role preferred.
- NFPA and Joint Commission compliance knowledge preferred.
-Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems preferred.
-Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred.
Education
-Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.) or related field preferred.
-Certification in maintenance management (e.g., CMM) or related area preferred.
