TIU Community Education and Workforce Services invites applicants for a Triage Specialist/Receptionist. This is a full time temporary position through June 30, 2025 that has the potential to become permanent. Part time interest will also be accepted. The Receptionist/Staff Assistant for the TIU Community Education and Workforce Services shall be directly responsible to the CEWS Director and/or assigned staff for supervision and evaluation.
Fundamental Duties/Essential Functions
1. Act as building receptionist, greet public, direct customers and enter each customer into visitor log following all protocol established.
2. Schedule and confirm appointments for agency staff, CareerLink ® partners, and employers using the facility.
3. Schedule rooms for various activities as requested.
4. Schedule appointments as requested and notify staff.
5. Schedule agency vehicles as requested by staff and maintain required vehicle logs.
6. Process incoming mail.
7. Answer agency phones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
8. Assist with data entry in the Commonwealth’s online system to include but not limited to entering services and monthly events.
9. Assist customers with basic job search system access as needed.
10. Assist with registering customers for workshops as needed.
11. Assist with the upkeep of social media platforms, agency website and electronic newsletters.
12. Submit and maintain records of press releases and other publicity related to agency activities/events.
13. Assist with other clerical duties as needed.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by director and/or supervisory staff.
15. Lift, move, carry, and otherwise transport supplies and office equipment within office and to external locations.

12. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced office setting.
Qualification Standards
1. Education: possess a high school or GED diploma.
2. Experience: proficient in typing, computer skills and general clerical skills; experience in customer service; experience in navigating and maintaining social media platforms
