Flushing Hospital Medical Center has a career opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner – Mandarin speaking in our Outpatient clinic. This role focuses on providing exceptional patient care and ensuring effective communication and culturally sensitive treatment in a diverse healthcare environment. The NP will be integral in diagnosing, treating, and managing various medical conditions, while also facilitating strong connections between patients and the healthcare team.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Nurse Practitioner you will be responsible but not limited to:
- Demonstrating the ability to work and communicate effectively with Medical Team and others
- Practices within the scope of a Nurse Practitioner under the Family Medicine Department
- Completes consults and provide recommendations in conjunction with the Attending.
- Day to Day rounding and formulating treatment plans for patients
- Evaluates patients in the Family Medicine Clinic with the attending.
- Documents notes in the chart at the direction of the attending.
REQUIREMENT
- Master's Degree required.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- NY State License issued by the New York State Department of Education required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification, required
- Board Certification from an accredited body (e.g., ANCC, AANP).
- Minimum 1-3 years of nursing experience, with a preference for acute or primary care settings.
- Prior experience as an NP in outpatient, primary care, or specialty care is highly desirable.
- Experience working with Mandarin-speaking patients or in bilingual healthcare settings is strongly preferred.
Certifications:
- Valid NYS state Nurse Practitioner License. DEA Registration for prescribing controlled substances (if applicable).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Fluent in Mandarin (both spoken and written)
- Experience in primary care, internal medicine, or urgent care settings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving
