Carpenter/Carpentry Apprentice
TJM Carpentry, Inc. is a Northwest Chicagoland based Framing and Carpentry company looking for a talented Carpenter Apprentice to join a growing team. As a Carpenter Apprentice within TJM Carpentry Inc., it is expected for those employed have a desire to learn, grow, and succeed as they learn the role and master the trade. Our projects typically include custom residential rough framing, custom remodeling, exterior trim, and demolition services. Looking for a candidate whose desire to assist with maintaining the quality and integrity of our projects all while working to learn with developing skills to ensure future success.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be able to work alongside our construction foreman and carpenters to:
Successfully Complete Tasks, including but not limited to:
- Working with small hand and power tools
- Perform build out of spaces
- Clean up all spaces
- Set up jobsites by moving tools and equipment as directed
- Assist with moving jobsite materials
- Move and set up ladders
- Load dumpsters

- Install windows and doors
- Frame with steel and wood studs
- Assist with assembly of steel buildings
- Clean tools, and trucks as directed

- General knowledge of standard practices, materials & tools of the carpentry trade

Preferred Experience
- Residential and commercial construction
Minimum Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- Trade School Training (preferred)
- 0-3 years industry/construction experience
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
- Driver's License – must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record
