What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Professionals-All Levels position at TJM Industries Inc?
Seeking Safety Professionals for various positions in South Central PA--York, Lancaster, Harrisburg, Carlisle and Chambersburg areas.
Have openings for Managers who will lead a staff of up to 4 people who will lead the functions below (90-115k jobs)
Have openings for Safety Staff/Engineers who will perform many of the functions below. (65-85k jobs)
Essential Functions of the Job:
-Lead HSE functions for a plant--150-500 employees (different plants)
-Ensure facilities are in compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations
-Most jobs are hands-on jobs with much engagement and transparency with plants
-Develop and ensure OSHA training schedules are met (personally do or coordinate most of training)
-Ensure all needed documentation is organized and completed (daily/monthly/quarterly inspections, training documentation, permits, etc.)
-Ensure written policies and procedures are updated
-Conduct incident and near miss investigations as needed with proper CA's
-Develop safety initiatives that address biggest threats, most frequent injuries, etc.
-Spread safety out to ensure high employee engagement-safety is everyone's job (Build that in to initiatives, Develop Train the trainer initiatives)
-Develop all leadership on their role with HSE (Provide training, audit areas with leaders, measure their activities)
-Set up data collection systems needed to fill out Environmental reports
-Complete all needed Safety and Environmental annual reports
-Keep OSHA log up to date
-Work with HR/Managers to ensure Loss Control on any incidents is closely managed (Strive to keep Experience Mod low)
-Assist leadership and engineers with projects that require safety expertise
-Manage all vendors that are utilized for HSE compliance
-Develop annual calendar and share with Operations on all key Safety initiatives and due dates
-Champion processes that involve people like Behavior Based Safety (prior experience would be a plus)
-Constantly be a presence in the plant and work with all leadership, safety committees and employees to build a culture of safety excellence.
-Managers-lead a Safety Staff of a few people
Desired Education, Experience, and Skill Set:
--Prefer Individuals with BS in Safety or related fields
--Engineers-Prefer 2-3 years of experience
--Managers-Prefer individuals with 6-10 years of progressive experience
--Prefer individuals who are comfortable in plant environments on the shop floor--don't want people who just stay in the office
--Must have a strong working knowledge of all OSHA General Industry regulations and needed DEP regulations
--Prefer individuals who have a history of spreading safety out throughout the plant and increasing engagement-Don't want a person who thinks that the sole safety resource for everything
--Need someone who leads by example, is proactive and engaging
