Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and workplace safety standards. You will develop, implement, and oversee safety programs, conduct training sessions, and perform audits to promote a safe working environment for all employees. Your expertise in EHS regulations and practices will be crucial in minimizing risks and ensuring the health and safety of our workforce.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Provide training development for employees on safety practices, emergency response, CPR, first aid, and occupational health.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, inspections, and compliance status; analyze data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and liaise with insurance providers as necessary.
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents to prevent future occurrences.
- Stay current on EHS regulations and best practices; provide guidance on regulatory changes affecting the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in EHS roles or similar positions with a strong understanding of OSHA standards and environmental regulations.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is required; additional certifications in EHS or occupational health are a plus.
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
- Familiarity with workers' compensation law and environmental protection agency (EPA) guidelines.
- Excellent analytical skills with experience in conducting risk assessments and root cause analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various departments within the organization.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
