Job Summary :
An Endoscopy Technician plays a crucial role in preparing and maintaining endoscopy equipment, ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures, and assisting medical professionals with documentation and room preparation.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Equipment Preparation : Check equipment for proper function, clean and sterilize, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
2. Patient Preparation : Explain the procedure to the patient, help change into a gown, and position the patient for the procedure.
3. Assistance During Procedure : Hand instruments to the endoscopy nurse and physician, and suction fluid as needed.
4. Documentation : Record the procedure, including adverse reactions or complications.
5. Cleaning and Stocking : Clean the room and restock supplies after the procedure.
Requirements :
To be successful in this role, an Endoscopy Technician must have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
