The responsibility of the Leasing Agent is to rent apartments, keep the grounds looking great, assist the property manager with tasks, and oversee the overall community so that all is in order and working with the utmost efficiency. This position with the assistance of the property staff helps keep the occupancy rate of the apartment community at or about 97%; treats every prospective resident and every current residenteveryone who walks in the dooras an honored guest; deals with resident requests and complaints promptly, schedules work with maintenance and follows through to see that the work has been accomplished.

Required: Service/Hospitality sales experience or equivalent experience.

Preferred: Leasing/Residential Sales specific experience.

Associates degree in business management of similar fields of study.

  • Fair Housing: Familiarity with local, state, and federal housing and landlord-tenant laws
  • Sales: Knowledge of effective sales techniques and customer service practices
  • Software: Proficiency with property management software and CRM tools
  • Financial/Budget: Understanding of financial objectives related to property operations

  • Customer Service: Adept at building positive relationships with prospective and current residents through courteous communication
  • Sales and Negotiation: Strong ability to showcase property features and successfully close lease agreements
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for handling inquiries and resolving resident issues
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of addressing and resolving resident concerns patiently and efficiently
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to schedule appointments, maintain records, and manage multiple tasks
  • Marketing: Ability to effectively promote property amenities to prospective residents
  • Computer Literacy: Skilled in property management software, email communication, and office applications

  • Interpersonal Abilities: Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with residents, prospects, and staff
  • Adaptability: Ability to handle a dynamic work environment and manage resident service issues calmly
  • Detail Orientation: Ensure properties meet appearance standards and documentation is accurate
  • Time Management: Schedule and conduct tours efficiently while managing administrative responsibilities
  • Compliance Awareness: Ability to follow housing and employment regulations
