What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Service Technician position at TLD?
The Area Service Technician (AST) will represent TLD and its fundamentals to our customers. He/she will perform troubleshooting, operations support, service repairs, service bulletins and training classes. TLD designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for the aviation ramp environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organizes work/assignments independently with a strong sense of results and customer satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
- Prepare reports and follow up on trouble tickets.
- Perform repairs and adjustments to various equipment components and operating systems, or related components.
- Ability to disassemble and reassemble components.
- Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
- Performs routine housekeeping duties including cleaning of work area, tool boxes, and company vehicle(s).
- Inspect, repair and/or overhaul components, such as electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in awkward positions and tight areas).
- Must be able to lift weights exceeding 50 pounds.
- Good mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Good electrical and automotive communication knowledge.
- Minimum 2 years performing repair and maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and related components.
- Experience with diesel powered vehicles preferred.
- Familiarity with the use of repair manuals, wiring (electrical) diagrams and schematics necessary to troubleshoot or repair failed components.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess basic hand tools necessary to perform assigned tasks.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum 3 years of service repair experience; in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical skills with some PLC experience and HVAC
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to read and speak the English language
- No travel restrictions – Valid passport
- Customer service skills
- Empty criminal case to allow airport access
Compensation is based on location and experience. Prefered candidate would live close to an airport.
