Position Overview

We are seeking a Structural Engineering Operations Manager to lead and optimize our structural engineering team. This role blends technical expertise with operational leadership, ensuring both high-quality engineering work and efficient project execution. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can manage a team of 6-8 engineers, streamline workflows, oversee project execution, and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

Team & Operations Management :

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of eight structural engineers, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and collaboration.
Develop and implement operational strategies to improve team efficiency, project workflows, and resource allocation.
Monitor team performance, set clear expectations, and provide regular feedback and coaching.

Project & Quality Oversight :

Oversee structural design, analysis, and detailing for multiple projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company best practices.

Establish and maintain quality control processes, reviewing and approving engineering calculations, reports, and drawings.

Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.

Process Improvement & Efficiency :

Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance consistency and efficiency.

Optimize the use of engineering software and tools (e.g., TEDDs, Risa, RAM, Revit) to improve productivity.

Collaborate with leadership to develop long-term operational strategies that align with business goals.

Client & Stakeholder Coordination :

Act as a key liaison between clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring smooth project execution.

Lead project planning meetings, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure clear communication across all stakeholders.

Strategic Planning & Growth :

Contribute to business development initiatives, helping to expand service offerings and improve operational efficiency.

Support hiring and onboarding efforts to build and retain a strong engineering team.

Qualifications :

Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

8-10 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 3 years in a management or operational leadership role.

Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Proven experience optimizing workflows, improving processes, and managing engineering teams.

Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., TEDDs, Risa, RAM, Revit).

Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

We are currently registered in 12 states.
