Job Summary
This position is responsible for operating a bus to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to a time schedule. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Assist passengers with baggage, collect tickets or cash fares, and provide general information about routes and schedules.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort, and make repairs or change tires as needed.
- Safety and Security: Comply with local traffic regulations, report delays or accidents, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Record Keeping: Record cash receipts and ticket fares, and maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections and maintenance.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: One year of related bus operating experience and a valid Commercial Driver License Class B.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance and maintain interim Secret Clearance prior to start.
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand, kneel, walk, crouch, crawl, reach, and balance for extended periods, and lift up to 60 pounds.
