Position Description

The BIM Model Specialist Engineer is responsible for our construction projects by supporting the implementation and utilization of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. Working closely with our project teams, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate 3D models, coordinating clash detection, and assisting in the overall management of BIM processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in BIM within the construction industry while contributing to the success of our projects.

Reports to: Preconstruction Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

-       Utilize BIM software (such as Revit, Navisworks, or similar tools) to develop and maintain detailed 3D models of construction projects, including architectural, structural, and MEP components.

-       Overall responsibility for communication of information amongst all project team members.

-       Assist in clash detection and resolution by coordinating models from various disciplines to identify and resolve conflicts, ensuring design coordination and constructability.

-       Organize, update, and maintain BIM models throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all project documentation.

-       Work closely with project teams, including architects, engineers, trade partners, and other stakeholders, to integrate BIM into project workflows and facilitate effective collaboration.

-       Generate and update construction drawings and other documentation derived from BIM models to support project planning, coordination, and execution.

-       Provide guidance and support to project team members on BIM-related processes, software usage, and best practices, particularly to those less familiar with BIM technology.

-       Conduct regular quality checks on BIM models and associated data to ensure compliance with industry standards, project requirements, and company protocols.

-       Stay updated on the latest developments in BIM technology, tools, and methodologies, and actively contribute ideas for process improvements and workflow optimizations.

-       As a part of the Preconstruction Team, provide support for pricing/bidding efforts including Program budget estimates, estimates produced throughout various customer design phases, Guaranteed Maximum Price Development (G-MAX/GMP), Stipulated Sum, Cost-Plus Development, Construction Manager at Risk (CmaR).  This includes material take-offs, trade partner relationship development, turning in/delivering bids/proposal packages, etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
• Proficiency in BIM software, such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• A Level 300 BIM Specialist possesses advanced proficiency in BIM software tools such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other specialized software.
• Strong understanding of construction principles, methods, and practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to BIM implementation and management is a plus.
• A thorough understanding of industry standards, guidelines, and best practices related to BIM implementation, including but not limited to BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), National BIM Standards, ISO 19650, and relevant building codes. Ensure that BIM workflows comply with these standards and drive continuous improvement in BIM processes.

• Performance of job duties may require climbing temporary or permanent stairs, passenger usage of construction hoists/elevators and climbing ladders
• Work Environment may include existing on high elevated surfaces such as roofs, elevated platforms, swing stages, loud machine/equipment influenced areas, areas with high decibel banging and dust particles
