JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Database Admin will be responsible for the overseeing the customers database runs efficiently. They will be responsible for using software tools to store, organize and secure the data from unauthorized users. Additional activities may include planning, installing, configuring, troubleshooting and monitoring software.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Providing exceptional customer service support to clients while working with multiple departments to ensure policies and procedures are properly followed and communicated
- Proficient at delivering situational awareness reports depicting project status summaries and participating in configuration control boards or related cyber working groups
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously on multiple projects while meeting identified deadlines
- Ability to receive direction from supervisor and follow through in a timely fashion
- Strong problem-solving skills, through communicating with strong reasoning and creative tactics
- Ensure that organizational data are secure, installing upgrades and patches to fix program bugs
- Backup and restore data to prevent data loss
- Identify user needs to create and administer databases
- Ensure that databases operate efficiently and without error through monitoring performance and conducting performance audits
- Make and test modifications to database structure when needed
- Maintain databases and update permissions as required
- Merge old databases into new ones as directed by customer lead
- Must have working knowledge of SQL
- Must have an understanding of complex software operating systems
