Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating heavy machinery, particularly excavators, in various construction environments. This role involves working on construction sites, performing excavation tasks, and ensuring that all operations comply with safety regulations.
Duties
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, and loaders to dig trenches, foundations, and other earthworks.
- Perform horizontal drilling and assist with dump truck operations as needed.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections on machinery to ensure safety and functionality.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other crew members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Maintain a clean work environment by managing debris and ensuring that equipment is properly stored when not in use.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks on the construction site.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Requirements
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, specifically with excavators.
- Familiarity with backhoe operation, bulldozer functions, loader operation is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand construction plans is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to construction sites.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina for extended periods of operation.
- Valid driver’s license; certification in heavy equipment operation is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members on-site.
