What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technician position at TMC TECHNOLOGIES?
TMC Technologies is looking for an Engineering Technician to join our team supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division (Indiana). The Engineering Technician will provide technical support to engineers in areas such as production, disposition, and maintenance. All applicants must possess or be able to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
This work location for this position will be Bedford, IN. This position may require occasional travel within the U.S. This is a temporary position from February 17 to August 30, with the potential to become permanent.
Tasking Includes:
- Using hand tools and power tools to assemble according to engineering drawings
- Analyzing and implementing procedures and processes for the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the program.
- Loading and unloading semi-trucks with large equipment and pallets
- Training team members, leading small teams in tasking and reporting to program manager and government task lead
- Integrating system components and modifying systems
- Equipment installs and basic operational testing
- Developing Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) for new equipment and systems upgrades
- Wiring systems to schematics and testing electrical circuits
- Building cable assemblies that are 620 compliant from a drawing
- Maintaining inventory of program equipment and materials and reporting status to project team
- Developing work cards and assist with processes for integration and production of tactical systems
Job Requirements:
Associate’s degree in related discipline and 4 or more years of related experience or High School Diploma and 8 years of related experience
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance; not needed to start
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Proficient at reading and understanding engineering drawings and wiring diagrams for builds
- Have knowledge of mechanical and electrical assemblies
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Have a basic knowledge of cable building (620 certified)
- Must be able to solder electrical components
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Able to independently research to find solutions
- Have knowledge of technical documentation, specifications, standards, procedures, technical/engineering reference books, tests, and publications for integration, testing, and fielding of tactical systems
- Must possess troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail, a cooperative attitude, and sound work ethics are essential
