We are seeking a skilled Fleet Dispatcher to join our operations team in Columbia, South Carolina. This role involves coordinating with drivers to manage the movement of goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and optimizing revenue and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review driver check calls to assess their location and estimated delivery times.
- Dispatch loads to drivers, providing essential information, such as loading instructions, directions, routing, and fuel details.
- Communicate with customers to clarify directions and schedule loading/delivery appointments as necessary.
- Emphasize the importance of safety throughout all operational aspects, including dispatching loads within drivers' available hours.
- Promote driver retention by considering their needs and preferences, monitoring their performance, and keeping them informed and engaged.
- Identify and address performance issues through regular driver evaluations and meetings.
- Enforce company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of driver performance and productivity.
Requirements:
- A four-year degree in Transportation and Logistics or relevant experience in transportation/related field.
