What are the responsibilities and job description for the COMPUTER APPLICATIONS COORDINATOR (CBORD) position at TMC?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates a variety of CBORD support activities in order to facilitate and expedite administrative and clerical priorities of the office; confers with staff, users and management to establish requirements for the CBORD systems or modification; and translates or explains what CBORD information means and how it can be used.
- Oversee the daily performance of CBORD, including but not limited to, installation and performance of minor repairs to CBORD’s hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications; and maintaining record of daily CBORD data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken and installation activities of CBORD.
- Receives and controls CBORD/RPMS items directly to the appropriate offices for action, assembling background information before routing mail to the supervisor, and notifying the supervisor of pending delays and their reasons.
- Reads technical manuals, confers with users and conducts computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and support; answers users’ inquiries regarding CBORD computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems; and refers major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
- Provides advice to food service staff within the division concerning such matters as CBORD documents, reporting and correspondence procedures.
- Utilizes computers and computer systems (CBORD software) to program, set up functions, and enter data or process information; and works closely with Information Technology (IT) Services department for high-level computer systems management & advisement.
- Assists Nutritive Service Department’s staff in procedural aspects of expediting work of the CBORD, including distribution of the workload to food service staff to help to take care of fluctuating workloads; explaining report requirements, arranging for submission of data, and assembling into general reports.
- Searches for, assembles, and summarizes information as required from CBORD data and documents as requested by the supervisor or in anticipation of department needs. Organizes and maintains CBORD files and records, manuals, handbooks, and other related materials.
- Uses CBORD’S word processing and other types of software (spreadsheets, graphics, etc.) to process and produce a wide range of documents, some of which require complex formats in support of the office automation functions. Examples include creating, editing, and reformatting lengthy reports requiring advanced functions such as those required to generate tables of contents, statistical data with multiple columns, technical directives, correspondence, and lists of exhibits; using database or spreadsheet software to enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for standard or special reports; and using graphics software to provide graphics symbols, charts, and graphs.
- Develops training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of CBORD hardware and software; Nutrition Service Suite (NSS), Food Service Suite (FSS).
- Assumes responsibility for the department Lean Six Sigma initiative, story board, and provides reports on the outcome of all food service lean goals.
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring that requests for action or information are made known to responsible staff personnel who can satisfy the request while supervisor is absent. Follows up on required actions and informs the supervisor of status.
- Receives telephone calls and visitors. Responds to requests for information concerning program functions; ensures timely reply or action to inquiries; secures and furnishes information required by higher level management relative to action required or taken; and prepares responses from source material.
- Reviews outgoing correspondence for signature of supervisor, proper format, and conformance with procedures and policies.
- Arranges for meetings, including making reservations for meeting rooms and notifying all participants. Maintains meeting minutes.
- Attend conferences and seminars to maintain knowledge of CBORD hardware and software.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Two (2) years of direct work experience.
Education:
Associate’s Degree in related field.
