Overview
A medical records clerk in a nursing home organizes, maintains, and ensures the accuracy of patient medical records. They also retrieve and release medical records when requested. Responsibilities- Sort and file: Organize medical records, such as progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries
- Create files: Create medical record files for patients
- Ensure accuracy: Ensure that medical records are complete, accurate, and timely
- Retrieve and release: Retrieve and release medical records as needed
- Maintain records: Maintain and update patient medical records
- Create systems: Create and maintain a records management system
- Enter data: Perform data entry tasks
- Maintain archives: Maintain company archives
- Retrieve information: Retrieve information from the filing system when requested
Qualifications
Minimum requirements: Active employee in good standing, basic computer skills, CNA certified, basic understanding of medical terminology, organized with filing, back up driver for resident appointments so must have active drivers license and insurance
Schedule – Day shift M-F but schedule is subject to change
