- Provide customer support for various projects from OEM, Chassis Builders and Brake Suppliers for passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
- Manage and support technical topics. Prospect customers and projects, make and present proposals and support quotations, discuss technical characteristics of projects and test results.
- Lead and support R&D projects aiming at project nominations and manage introduction of new products on production site. Manage projects between different company sites, mainly between U.S., Mexico and Brazil. Interact with German company as needed for technical knowledge exchange and reports.
- Manage OE projects regarding potential capacity and volumes.
- Commit to sales targets and support sales planning.
- Support the internal engineering team in daily activities and projects.
- Communicate customer targets, specifications, and project related requirements to project team. Collect and document reports and feedback from customers.
- Analyze Customer Specific Requirements, standards and governmental requirements.
- Provide customer support on vehicles, dynamometer tests and other controls according to standards, supporting the product development.
- Perform duties using APQP, PPAP, FMEA and MSA quality and development tools.
- Ensure technical, time and cost targets are met through communication with R&D, production and other key departments.
- Support the design department with definition of new drawings for new applications or changes in current projects.
- Support customer complaints and satisfaction.
- Define Key Performance Indicators for customer prioritization.
- Make internal and external presentations at brake seminars, trade shows, and customers.
- Lead IATF 16949 audits for the development and product scopes, for Passenger Car Pads and Commercial Vehicle pads projects.
- Business trips are part of the scope for other TMD sites, customers and eventually supplier visits, meetings, and events. Approximately 10% of the time may be spent on these business trips. Travels destinations are most likely to Brazil, Mexico, Germany and inside the US, depending on the event.
- Experience working with Automotive industry (OEMs), new products introduction and R&D projects.
- Require bachelor’s degree in mechanical or mechatronics engineering.
- Require 2 years of engineering experience which includes customer audits related to project development topics (IATF 16949), introducing new products, research and development projects, and working with multi-disciplinary teams from international locations.
Spanish and Portuguese skills are a plus
