Job Summary
The Physical Therapist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat clients / patients of TMI Sports Medicine. They will develop, implement, and oversee the plan of care and document into the patients EMR appropriately.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets patients as they arrive to therapy and set the standard of excellent patient service.
- Reviews physician’s referral and patient’s medical records to help determine diagnosis and physical therapy treatment required.
- Carry out evaluation and examination upon the first visit to establish POC.
- Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
- Prescribe appropriate POC to return patients to their prior level of function.
- Oversees the implementation of the treatment plan and delegates appropriate tasks to support staff, ATCs, PTAs, and Rehab technicians.
- Enters prognosis, treatment, response, progress, and billing in patient’s EMR.
- Bills for physical therapy services in an efficient, ethical, and equitable manner.
- Assesses patients’ progress and effectiveness of treatment at every therapy session, and adjusts POC to maximize patents outcomes.
- Discharges patients from physical therapy when goals or projected outcomes have been attained and provide for appropriate follow-up care or referrals.
- Communicates proposed interventions, risks, and expected benefits with the patient.
- Coordinates care of the patient with direct oversight of all departmental support staff.
- Maintains the department equipment and clinical supplies in a clean and orderly condition and makes appropriate requests for needed supplies / equipment.
- Manages time efficiently and follows standard work practices.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
