We are seeking to hire a full-time Civil Litigation Attorney. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written communication skills with a strong work ethic and heavy attention to detail. Legal experience in a high-volume service-oriented environment and foreclosure experience is a plus.

Summary: Under general supervision, the Litigation Attorney provides exceptional legal representation to mortgage servicers, banks and secured creditors in judicial foreclosure and title curative matters. The Litigation Attorney identifies and resolves legal issues through effective solutions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews case files and correspondence.
- Prepares pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Review opposition memos and drafts reply briefs.
- Conducts depositions.
- Reviews title reports, certificates of title, land court petitions and related documents.
- Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, codes and regulations.
- Provides legal analysis and informs of exposure and regulatory risks.
- Responds to client emails and requests for status update.
- Initiates and returns telephone calls with borrowers, opposing attorneys and court staff.
- Works with paralegals to complete deadlines in a timely manner.
- Attends hearings, trials, settlement conferences and other court matters on all islands and in state and federal court in-person, by telephone, and/or video.
- Independently manages a calendar of filing deadlines, meetings and court appearances.
- Maintains accurate recording of billable work performed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate Degree
- Admitted to practice law in the State of Hawaii and the United States District Court, District of Hawaii
- Minimum one year of attorney work experience preferably in real estate, mortgage servicing and/or mortgage related loan purchases and sales, title curative matters, or litigation.
- Must be able to travel throughout the State of Hawaii for court appearances and in-person meetings.
- Ability to manage and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment is required.
- Possess exceptional organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Solid problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF document format.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
