What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at TMLT?
Reporting to the CFO, the ideal candidate devises and directs financial accounting activities of all entities in the organization.
Responsibilities
- Establishes accounting procedures and reporting guidelines.
- Ensures the integrity of department policies.
- Oversees financial reporting, preparation of financial statements, ensures compliance with state and federal requirements, coordination with external auditors, regulatory agencies, investment personnel, actuarial data, and tax filings.
- Manages financial reporting staff.
- Manages audit functions including scheduling and coordination within the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 8 to 10 years' experience with management, budgeting, and financial modeling experience and at least five years in a supervisory capacity.
- Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong STAT insurance and GAAP insurance reporting knowledge, Public Accounting experience preferred, CPA preferred.
- Experience with Sungard, iWorks and AM Best software packages a plus.
Salary : $145,000 - $185,000
