Tortilla Maker JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Class : Non-Exempt

Reports To : The Chief Manager

Job Summary : Directly responsible for making and serving a great-tasting tortilla.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities : NOTE : Taco Cabana unilaterally may change the requirements of this job description at any time. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These include, but are not limited to, the following :

You must be passionate about serving a great-tasting tortilla.
have knowledge and experience making tortillas and working with commercial equipment.
Cooking tortillas on a flat top grill, and following all health and safety standards.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work harmoniously with other employees.
Able to operate commercial kitchen equipment.
Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation.
Assist in other areas as needed including washing dishes.
Able to work weekends and holidays including Christmas.
Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Being able to stand up to 9 hours.

Use motion that entails pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, and continuous use of fingers and wrists.

Tolerate kitchen temperatures at times.

A minimum of 1 year of experience as a cook.

Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.

Needed Attributes :

Able to work with a diverse group of people; team player, and can tolerate kitchen temperatures.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee is frequently required to stand and walk (majority of shift)

The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds

The noise level in the work environment is usually medium
