Heavy Equipment Operator - Day Shift 6am-2pm

Position Overview:
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating cranes and wheeled excavators equipped with grapples to safely and efficiently handle materials within the steel mill. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining production flow and ensuring a safe workplace.

Schedule: 6:00am-2:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate cranes and wheeled excavators with grapples to load, unload, and move materials.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate material handling and transport.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers regarding job progress and equipment issues.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment operation and material movements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid heavy equipment operator certification.
• Proven experience operating cranes and wheeled excavators, preferably in a steel mill or industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
