Maintenance Technician

TMS Manufacturing is a stable and successful chemical manufacturing company that is 100% Employee-Owned . We are seeking a Facility Maintenance Generalist who enjoys a challenge. This is a great role for an out-of-the-box creative thinker and problem-solver who can fix older equipment rather than replace it.

The role is critical in keeping equipment running (Mixers, Air Motors, Pumps, etc), allowing for meeting product production deadlines. The role also handles building maintenance and keeping staff comfortable and safe. To be successful in this role, one must have a working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and boiler systems and repair. Welding experience is a plus. Knowledge and some experience across multiple trades are preferred over being an expert in one. The current location is an older manufacturing facility built in the 1960s. The position schedule is Monday to Friday, 6 : 00 am to 2 : 00 pm, or 6 : 30 am to 2 : 30 pm. Wage based on experience and areas of knowledge. The Alsip location has easy interstate access.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• One year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months related experience.
• Knowledge of 480-volt electricity, light welding, air motors, and gear pumps.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

A large percentage of work time is spent in a production warehouse where temperatures are cool, and the noise level can be loud.

Compensation details : 20-27 Hourly Wage
