Overview
Shift: 3x12 DAYS (0630 - 1900) 36 Hrs. GuaranteedAZ License & BLS Required 2 Yrs. of CT & X-Ray Experience Cerner Experienced Preferred
The CT Technologist is a graduate of an accredited AMA school and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). The CT Technologist is licensed by the state as a general radiographer and is responsible for providing timely diagnostic services to both inpatient and outpatients under the direction of a Radiologist and departmental protocols. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the performance of basic radiographic procedures, fluoroscopy, portable radiographic procedures, C-arm procedures, and OR imaging services. The CT Technologist demonstrates proficiency at routine diagnostic CT Scanning procedures including but not limited to CT of head/brain, neck, thorax, spine, abdomen/pelvis extremities and biopsy/drainage procedures. Responsibilities also include: knowledge of processing of CT system, surgical/sterile procedure, studies with or without contrast media and cross sectional anatomy.
Duties
- Perform CT scans as per physician orders while adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Maintain and operate CT equipment, performing routine checks to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other medical staff to discuss findings and assist in diagnostic evaluations.
- Document patient information accurately, including medical history and imaging results.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques.
Experience
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles.
- Familiarity with various imaging modalities including X-Ray, PET scan, and nuclear medicine is preferred.
- Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center or urgent care setting is advantageous.
- Proven ability to perform diagnostic evaluations effectively while prioritizing patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare team members effectively.
