Key Responsibilities:
- Dispensing Medications:
- Accurately and safely dispense prescription medications to patients based on physicians' orders.
- Verify the accuracy of prescriptions and check for potential drug interactions.
- Prepare and label medications according to established pharmacy protocols.
- Patient Counseling:
- Provide counseling to patients on the proper use, dosage, and potential side effects of medications.
- Educate patients about over-the-counter medications and health-related topics.
- Offer advice on lifestyle modifications and general wellness.
- Medication Management:
- Review patient medication profiles to ensure appropriate therapy and check for possible contraindications or interactions.
- Monitor and manage refills, ensuring patients receive their medications on time.
- Assist in medication therapy management (MTM) services, including identifying and resolving medication-related problems.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate stock levels of medications and ensure proper storage conditions.
- Order medications, track inventory, and manage expired or discontinued drugs.
- Implement and adhere to inventory control policies.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Providers:
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers regarding medication-related issues.
- Address medication-related inquiries and help resolve any discrepancies in prescriptions.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws, including the proper handling of controlled substances.
- Keep up-to-date with pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service and address patient concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy area, ensuring patients feel comfortable and confident.
- Health and Wellness Programs:

Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
- Licensure: Valid pharmacy license in the state of practice.
- Experience: Previous experience in retail pharmacy preferred but not required.
