Overview
The PCU/Telemetry Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available; provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in diverse clinical environments.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform essential nursing procedures including IV insertion and specimen collection processing.
- Operate neonatal ventilators and assist in cardiac catheterization procedures when required.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patient interactions.
- Offer support in long-term care and senior care settings, ensuring comfort and dignity for patients.
- Educate patients and families about health management, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in hospital settings with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in neonatal ventilator operation is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in IV insertion and specimen collection processing.
- Familiarity with cardiac catheterization techniques is a plus.
- Experience in long-term care or senior care environments is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Botulinum toxin treatment protocols is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments while maintaining high standards of nursing practice.
