Primary Role:
The ideal candidate will support, supplement, and extend classroom teaching. The Reading Specialist is expected to work collaboratively with teachers to implement a quality reading program that is research and data-based.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English
- North Carolina Teaching Certificate
- Minimum of six years teaching experience in elementary school
Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices
- Create, plan, and teach a rigorous curriculum while meeting the needs of a diverse student population
- Provide small groups of staff development as needed
- Assist teachers in planning an appropriate individual intervention program
- Model reading instruction in classrooms
- Assist teachers in assessing students for appropriate instruction
- Effectively and consistently communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff, and community.
- Develops, selects, and differentiates instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
Salary : $52,800 - $62,800
