Primary Role:
The AP of Student Culture is part of the admin team, supports the principal, and coordinates all student-related tasks, including after-school clubs, incentive programs, discipline, safety, and student attendance.
Qualifications:
- B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution in education and/or a related field
- A Master’s Degree in education or administration is a plus
- 3 years of experience in teaching or school administration
- Experience in successfully implementing a PBIS (or related) plan is a plus
- Possession of a current North Carolina Professional Educator’s License

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all Board policies
- Maintain confidentiality of all student, parent, and staff information
- Enforce the Student Code of Conduct, Attendance, and Dress Code policies
- Maintain accurate documentation/records of incidents and assigned consequences, including the use of ConceptSIS
- Follow due process procedures when disciplining a student
- Support and promote the school’s mission, vision, and culture
- Practice fair and consistent student discipline as outlined in the student handbook
- Define and disseminate information about discipline policy and procedures to parents, staff, and students.
- Keep a signed copy of the Family Contract on file for each student.
- Communication that provides timely sharing of information with staff, parents, and students
- Be easily accessible to staff
- Develop and implement student incentive programs
- Assist with the development and implementation of behavior and attendance-based interventions
- Maintain high visibility throughout the school
- Collaborate with staff to improve classroom management and student time on task
- Actively seek and apply feedback from staff, parents, and students
- Resolve short-term issues while balancing them against long-term goals
- Analyze student behavior and attendance data. Monitor trends.
- Use PowerSchool to run attendance reports, send warning notice letters to parents, and follow all truancy procedures including filing charges, attending court, and contacting Child Protective Services as necessary. Hold meetings with parents regarding unexcused absences.

- Monitor and work to improve student attendance
- Establish a motivating student incentive program
- Monitor and coordinate safety reporting, such as P3 and Raptor.
- Maintain acceptable student behavior in all areas of the school
- Create, implement, and monitor the safety program
- Establish and maintain a safe environment for all staff and students
- Conduct and coordinate all emergency drills (fire, tornado, lockdown) and keep accurate records. Submit records to authorities as necessary.
- Other duties, as assigned, by supervisor/administrator.
