Customer Relations and Logistics Specialist

TMSI Logistics is a 3PL providing Inland Transportation Services for Ocean Imports and Exports, TL and LTL Consolidation and Warehousing. We have been proudly located in WNY for over 40 years. We are currently looking for an engaging, self-starter to join our Operations Team focused in our Inland Transportation Department. The successful candidate needs to be detail oriented, with a strong background in import/export logistics and container/port operations. This individual should have an innate customer service mindset and a desire to develop existing business relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work as part of a team coordinating transportation to ensure prompt and proper movement of freight while maximizing margins, minimizing risks and meeting all delivery parameters.

You will be charged with developing and maintaining customer relationships.

You’ll work directly with customers and carriers negotiating freight rates, sourcing new business and solving issues as they arise.

You will source and qualify new carriers for current and future lanes in an effort to expand our carrier network.

Inputting accurate, time sensitive data into our TMS is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience as a dispatcher in a 3PL

Working knowledge of port operations and rail yards

Customer service experience is a must

Active listener with strong organizational skills

Must have a willingness to learn and engage with experienced team members

Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes

Must have excellent verbal and written skills

Demonstrable record as a creative problem solver

Must exhibit sound judgment and critical thinking with an ability to calmly multitask in a fast paced, ever changing environment

Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.

CTB credential is a plus, as is experience in Rose Rocket TMS

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
