Job Summary:
The Director of Infection Prevention ensures high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing the hospital's Infection Prevention Program. This includes surveillance, analysis, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections, staff education, and the development of policies to maintain strict infection control standards. You will collaborate with the Infection Prevention Committee and drive decisions related to infection control and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
What You'll Do:
- Infection Control: Oversee the hospital-wide Infection Prevention Program, ensuring rigorous standards.
- Surveillance & Reporting: Analyze and report healthcare-associated infections.
- Staff Education: Educate staff on infection prevention and best practices.
- Policy Development: Develop policies that ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety.
- Leadership: Provide leadership within the Infection Prevention team and work on ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- License: RN (or applicable healthcare license) in the state(s) of practice, or active compact license.
- Certification: Infection Prevention Certification (required).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field (Master's preferred).
- Experience: 5 years in a clinical setting, with 5 years in infection prevention and 2 years in leadership.
