General Description:
The role of the CTE Business and Marketing teacher will be responsible for courses related to the business and marketing field and incorporating current knowledge of industry practices and trends. The courses prepare students for careers in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating business functions essential to efficient and productive business operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assess students’ needs for business management and marketing and develop individualized plans to support their academic and functional goals.
- Planning lessons on business management in accordance with students' learning objectives.
- Provide direct instruction in business management and marketing, ensuring that students become competent and confident learners.
· Collaborate with special education teams to integrate business management into the classroom environment, ensuring that accommodation is aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
· Stay updated with emerging strategies and best practices in business management and marketing for special education.
· Monitor student progress and adapt business management and marketing as necessary to optimize learning outcomes.
· Communicate and maintain relationships with all stakeholders promoting students
success.
· Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and student progress.
· Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in business management and marketing.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Functions:
· Be responsible for sponsoring an active Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) through FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) which enthusiastically competes in local, regional, state, and national skills competitions and events
· Enroll in Educator Prep Courses at an approved university offering the following endorsement: Business Education 6-12 (Endorsement Code 152) if applicable
- Able to be a positive team-player and communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, students, and families
- Open to being coached and receiving feedback to advance learning and growth for students
- Attend CTE Trainings
Minimum Qualifications
· Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with certifications as specified by state and federal standards for the teaching position held. A master’s degree is preferred.
· Requires a TN teacher license as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. If no current Visually Impaired certification must be willing to obtain one, beginning an approved program within the first two years of employment.)
· Must have or be willing to obtain ESL endorsement within a specified period.
· Teaching Certification/License An active teaching license in business Required
An industry certification such as Microsoft Office User or Adobe is Preferred
· Experience working with a wide range of students, including students with different visual impairments, additional disabilities, and complex learning needs. Preferred not required.
· Experience in Teaching.

- Selected applicants must verify experience/highest degree held.
- Direct deposit of paycheck on a 12-month schedule is required.
